In line with the principles of the Faro Convention, SIREH places communities at the heart of heritage processes, affirming culture as a public good and a vector for sustainable and inclusive development

SIREH is an organisation dedicated to Armenian cultural heritage: research, conservation, education, enhancement and international cooperation.

Our vision

In line with the principles of the Faro Convention, SIREH places communities at the heart of heritage processes, affirming culture as a public good and a vector for sustainable and inclusive development.

Our mission

SIREH works to preserve cultural heritage in its full integrity, including all the historical layers that shape its meaning. It connects local, diasporan and international experts, institutions and civil society to strengthen preservation practices, promote dialogue, and ensure Armenian heritage is understood, valued and protected — both locally and internationally.

Our origins

Our story begins with the meeting between different realities that share the same objective: taking care of the territory and the people who live there.

We coordinate initiatives, share resources and skills, and accompany associations in the realization of their projects.

This site is the tool with which we describe our work and make the archive of the entities with which we collaborate accessible to all.

Solidarity: no one is left behind, every reality of the network counts.

Context: why SIREH matters now

The Culture Compass for Europe (EU/UNESCO, 2025) marks a paradigm shift — culture as a driver of peace, resilience and sustainable development. SIREH is positioned to translate these principles into concrete action in Armenia, preserving analytical independence, methodological rigour and cultural pluralism at a moment when these values are under pressure.
