“KANTATA” Cultural Non-Governmental Organization was founded in July 2022 by Varsenik Avanyan and Sona Khachatryan. The organization’s mission is to make culture accessible to all layers of society, to educate, and to nurture a new generation of art enthusiasts.

The organization is led by renowned soprano Varsenik Avanyan, a soloist of the National Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet named after A. Spendiaryan. One of the NGO’s core values is ensuring access to culture for people with limited abilities. Among the singer’s regular audiences are children with various special needs. She has also performed alongside an ensemble composed of children with Down syndrome.

In 2023, with the support of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, the NGO implemented the “Undiscovered Europe” concert series, which aimed to present familiar European composers from a new and alternative perspective. The project was carried out in partnership with the Armenian State Philharmonic.

In 2024, the NGO presented the concert-performance “Woman – Das Mädchen – La Femme” to the public.
