"Development and Preservation of Armenian Culinary Traditions" NGO

The "Development and Preservation of Armenian Culinary Traditions" NGO was established in 2007. The goal of the organization is to revive and popularize traditional Armenian dishes. Over the years, the organization has been actively involved in this field. In particular, folklore research has been conducted in various regions of Armenia, and the organization has held competitions, seminars such as "Golden Ladle", "Young Chefs’ Contest", and others.

It has organized “Bread in the Mountains” ceremonial food exhibitions with tastings, and has held events on Armenian traditional holidays, highlighting the significance of the celebration and its ritual cuisine.

Every year, the Barbecue Festival, which has become a tradition, is held in Akhtala and has gained wide popularity.

We are preparing to expand the range of festivals: in various regions we will organize festivals dedicated to bread, dolma, khash, meatballs, and more. The organization’s president, Sedrak Mamulyan, hosts the “Araratian Cuisine” program on Yerkir Media TV, which has a broad audience, and we receive feedback even from distant countries.

The organization has also initiated the creation of an Encyclopedia of Armenian Traditional Cuisine.
